St Shining's is the old church given to Father Abel for his charity work around the city. Its a Gothic building with tall glimmering stained glass windows and large archways making it a diamond in the rough of the city. It has a small garden in which fruit trees grow and flowers flourish. Inside it's now clean and painted mostly white and adorned by many paintings and gold accessories. Abel spends most of his time here and uses it as the meeting place for The Shining and the place for most of his charity events. It also houses his refuge, a place he will retreat to if need be. there is also a confessional which Abel works along with Sister Esther and Father Huge, his co-workers in the church that keep it running as a regular church, and a gifted refuge.

”Sister Ester!” There was silence “SISTER ESTER!” The priest called again, tiring quickly after his long walk and the added weight of the other human in his arms. there came a snorting noise from one of the pews, sister ester with her head bowed in a prayer stance jumped and stood quickly,. sleep quite obviously logged in her eyes. “Father Nightroad! You’re back! …. My goodness what’s happened?” she asked running down the isle towards the tall priest. “he wounded himself” Abel sighed, quickly making his way down the isle in long strides, the small priestess following behind him in a small jog to keep up. “Can you fetch me fresh bandaged, towels some warm water please sister, and Has Father Hughue returned yet? The priestess’ eyes glistened with concern, “no, I haven’t seen him since he left with you this evening, is everything alright?” he asked, running off at the same time to fetch the supplies. “Yes, We’re both fine, quickly now!” he called after her, laying the gifted down before the alter, removing his clothes to expose his wings. The Priestess returned and crouched by the priests side, “here, father…you look awful…you need to rest, I can take care of this” She said softly, handing over the supplies. “nonsense, It’s not a problem” he smiled, accepting the bandages and tending to the gifted wounds.

When a hand was pressed against Spike's wing his head shot up and he bolted upright. "What the hell! Where am I....Church? Oh it's you." He said, acting relieved, really plotting where the exits were, and if he could break the glass by flying. He moved a wing slightly, then remembered what happened when pain shot through it. "Ouccch..." He said, feeling dehydrated. He avoided water knowing it was a weakness of him, but his human urges wanted him to embrace it and down pints every day. He looked from Abel to Ester and back then sat down dizzily on the pew. "Wil I be able to fly again?" He said moodily.

“yes, you Passed out so I brought you here….er….I’m no expert but I should think so, they appear to just be fleshy wounds, no bone damage that I can see” Abel said, gently removing shards of metal from him and pressing clean bandages to the wounds. “Please don’t move, it’s going to do more harm than good” Sister Ester said touching his arm gently “here” she said softly, offering him a cup of sugary tea “You’ve lost a lot of blood you’ll need it” she smiled gently and moved to stand behind Abel again, her arms clasped in front of her.

"You brought me here...." He looked at the tall man's build, finding it inimpressive against his own. He wondered what was hidden underneath those baggy robes. He took the tea and downed it, ignoring the heat and feeling warm inside. "So...You own this place...You going to explain to me what happened in that alley?" He said quizzically, a firm look in his eye and a burning desire to know if this was a valued gifted to be caught.

Abel Smiled innocently, with a sweet kind of warmth only a man of pure heart can show. “It was the closest place I could get help, to fix you up a little, You took quite a beating back there” he sighed, taking a towel and warm water to start cleaning of the blood from the gifted’s wings and skin. He paused slightly, his confidence wavered slightly, even his peaceful expression flickered in turmoil. “Oh, well this is My church, it was given to me by the city….for my charity work you see. And as for the alley way….you’ll have to forgive Father Hughue, he’s naturally defensive, he’s not had the easiest of lives you see” he said in an almost soft story telling tone. Avoiding talking about what had exactly happened in the alley way, discussing that kind of thing was always uncomfortable for the priest.

Troy could plainly see that Abel was avoiding the topic of what happened, and trying to brush it off. He thought it might be because of the girl who had joined them, or maybe because Abel simply thought Spike had forgot completely what happened. Of course he had not, and he was going to keep digging until he found out was was wrong. "I hardly was hit at all by anyone else, it's just my stupid mechanism needs to be perfected." He said, more to himself thatn to anyone else. "Praticing might be difficult." He said, also to Mr. nobody. When a hot towel was felt against one of th larger wounds, his spine shook and he sat upright, biting his lip in order to hold back the unmanly yelp. Despite acting like a good guy, he still certainly had his pride. A thought suddenly struck him like a lightning bolt. "Where's Eolyn? Didn't she say I had to wait?" He stood up in alarm and looked around, checking to see if she was hanging off the ceiling or something stupid like she used to do, before she toughened up with the help of a bit of murder.

Abel smiled lofting his eyes up from where he was tending to the boys sounds to smile at him softly “I can see that, Practice makes perfect, that’s what I always say” he said happily, the nun at his side was regarding this boy with a strange look on her face. “Well of course practice is going to be hard if this is what happens but you need to remember that most gifts are part of the user, so look inside yourself, and you’ll know where your going wrong naturally.” He said, thankful to be talking and taking solstice is handing out advice. Abel felt the gifted flinch and automatically grimaced “sorry” he said swiftly, letting the gifted stand “you shouldn’t be moving just yet” he reminded him “….that girl? Yes she did, but I couldn’t just leave you there, you where loosing a lot of blood and I couldn’t have been sure she’d return at all….you se it was best for you at the time” he explained “if you wish I could send Sister Ester here out to find her and let this Eolyn girl know where you are?” he suggested, wringing the bloodied cloth out in the water.

"Really? It would definately be helpful if I could find her. I need to get back to The Beacon. I'm a....Journalist for the newspaper there. I work on the 13th floor. My boss Mr A, will be wondering where I am." He made it up casually as he went on, quite enjoying his role, finding it almost like a game. "Will I be fit for going back anytime soon?" He said, wincing as he felt his wings shift position. They would definately be our of action for a few days, unless he could get some of Vi's blood injected. That would mean doing alot of the dirty work. Bastard, Vi was, every time someone was injured he could heal them within a day or two with some blood of his. Of course that meant that the favours piled up, and thats why he ended up become the boss. Since so many people were acting under him already, it was only naturally he became the head man when Jacques left. "Please, I'm working on a very important mission, I really need to get back, perhaps you could help me?" He cured himself as he registered what he had said. Intending to say "important story" he had mixed it with "mission". He piled on the sweetness and smiled, hoping the Abel didn't notice.

“Oh a journalist, I’ve never heard of a news paper by that name….heh not that I can afford too, vow of poverty you see” he smiled, looking over the boys wounds “I would suggest you rest for a good few days, I’ve bandaged and cleaned what I can, but you nee proper medical attention. “Well, It’s an important. Er…mission….” “Father It’s Ok I’m here in case anything happens and Hughue will be back soon” the priestess encourage, patting the tall priest on the shoulder, her hand looking dwarfed by his size. “well, I cant se why not then… where is this “beacon” then?” he asked, getting to his feet and offering the boy his hand. “I don’t have a car I’m afraid It’ll have to be on foot….” He said sadly, perhaps a little ashamed that even if he had a car, he couldn’t drive.

Taking the priests hand, Spike began to limp to the doorway. His body seemed to sear with pain everytime a joint would move, shifting the wounds, opening more. "ouch, this is going to be painful to heal." He said simply, reaching the doorway. "The Beacon is the tallest building around. You can see it from anywhere in Souzetsu City. Let me see." He stood outside the doorway, span round and pointed upwards. "There" He said, thrusting his arm at the towering building. "That's the Beacon." He said. He hoped that entering it from the bottom wouldn't cause a panic, although anyone from the Thirteenth floor up were seen as Fallen from Heaven and Gifts from the Devil. Maybe being with a priest might change their opinion. "I'll need something to hide my wings." He said, wondering where he had left his jacket. He wiped his forehead, annoyed to see that there were specks of blood tainting his appearance all over his body.

"I'm afraid so" The priest mumbled supporting the gifted despite his dislike for contact with people, the touch of their skin setting his pulse in time with theirs, yearning for their spirit. "Ah I see, well...It's not that far of a walk" he said with a nervous laugh, knowing it was a fair walk from the church. He was about to begin to walk when he heard the request. "oh Er..." he looked at the boy then at himself with a slight blush "here" he said softly lifting the long high collard coat from his shoulder and draping it over the young mans shoulders. however he felt very naked without it and blushed, a light pink tickling at his cheeks and the tips of his ears. taking the others arm he gently started to walk to-wards the beacon.

Spike was grateful for the jacket, warming his shoulders and protecting his wounds aswell as secret. He looked up at the man to give his thanks and saw the pink flushing over his face. "Are you cold?" He asked, hoping the man would say no so he could still stay with the jacket. "What exactly is your gift?" He asked when they rounded the first corner. He felt that by being away from the sister in the church he might get some valuable answers. Silently, he prayed that Vi and Eolyn would have returned to the Beacon and would wait for him to arrive. He also prayed that they would let him through the front door, and then simply let him pass through to the cursed floor 13 and above.

Abel walked with his head turned away from the boy to hide his light blushing “oh, no I’m fine, thank you for asking” He smiled, he was completely covered up despite giving away his clock, such was the way of Ax’s uniform. It had an amassing ability to be just right, never cold never hot. He looked up at the sky when the boy spoke again. “my…power?” he Said softly, looking back to the floor as they walked, watching the shadows cast by the street lights fade over them and away. “Well, how much did you see?” he asked the boy, not willing to tell more than he was necessary to keep the Childs curiosity at bay.

"You attacked an innocent man, said some religious garble and then sucked up all the blood. That's the base of what I saw. Oh and not to mention you came out unscathed when I shot out needles in every direction except to my right. You were diagonally to my left, it seems impossible you could have pretected yourself that fast." He was talking animatedly, and rather loud. When they turned onto a busier street he coughed and began to hush his voice, speaking in no more than a whisper. "Are you some sort of backwards religious vampire? are you a spirit? Are you dead? What IS AX?" He fired questions faster than bullets and quickened his pace to loose the crowd of spectators. They were no more than a block away from the Beacon, he had to find a way in soon.
