Abel paled with the words, he instantly stiffed and cast his gaze to the buildings directly before him, frowning in resolute determination “that man was not innocent, he had raped four women an killed a young girl of my acquaintance, she was only 15” he said “he deserved to die, god will decide his punishments in hell and by that may his soul be saved from eternal damnation” he said clearly, his words carrying on the wind gently. They turned a corner into a busier street, occasionally someone would say “good evening Father” as he passed, to witch he had to nod and reply “god be with you my child” it seemed almost instinctive and he didn’t appear to think about it. His attention was on the questions “Backwards vampire? Of kinds, I…My body desires Life….and it takes the source of life stored in the blood for itself…..I only kill those who are guilty of sin…that is what AX are, a core of fighters dedicated to cleansing the souls of those around them and specialise in supernatural activity….I could dodge your attacks because of my training and my gift, I could sense the change in your blood and pre-empted your attack, and I was able to doge it” he explained going no further than necessary.

"Hum, it makes sense." Spike lied. He was still curious, yet slow to grasp concepts. Excellent in Gym, flunked every English, never attended a Science. He looked into the building inside, finally they had reached the Beacon. The only challenge now was getting up to the top floor. The elevator only went up to 12, and the stairwell had been removed on every floor above it. "Okay, this may prove to be difficult. I live on the top floor, but they closed the building off above the 12th floor because of a .... accident. They get suspicious if anyone tries to go up there, you any good of thinking of excuses?" He asked desperately, then opened the door with a grunt at the ring of the bell. "Hello?" A small thin woman at the front desk asked. Her hair was pulled back so tight, it looked like it might make her face drop off if loosened. Her eyes were overly-large and a suspicious amber tone, interrogating anyone meeting her look. "Do you have an appointment...?" She asked tentatively, in a commanding yet soft tone. "Umm...No..." Spike started, nudging Abel for back-up.

"you do? thats...unusal" he said softly helping the boy through the doors and looking around him like a lost puppy as the approached the desk. The woman spoke and Abel stood back a little, knowing his height was intimidating, especially if you're sitting before him. He watched the boy talk and pulled a panicked face when he was nudged. "erh, hehe" he mumbled leaning down to the desk, placing his hands on the desk top letting his cross hang down from his neck obviously. "We're here to collect donations for the local church orphanage, we placed a few donation pots around the place and we;re here to pick them up, you see we desperately need a new kitchen back at the church, all the appliances are broken or about to break, only last week little Emily came down sick because the fridge is broken, ehehe" he said, rubbing the cross between his fingertips and smiling sweetly at the woman. He spoke quick and attempted to confuse the woman into letting them up, if only this was something the priest had to do very rarely, but as the past had taught him, a little white lie can help more than hurt some times.

The woman narrowed her eyes, but nodded and returned her gaze to her piles of paperwork. "Take your time, although make sure you stay clear of the higher floors, ther have been recent disturbances with the freak.....pipe...accident." She stumbled towards the end and added on another warning in a short hurried breath. "Just don't go there, and sign out when you leave." She waved them away rudely and Spike nodded politely. He grabbed the mans arm and limped towards the elevator. The buttons from 13 upwards had been removed, and taped over. The door closed with a ping and he cleared his throat. "You're a quick thinker, aint'cha?" He said and pressed the button for 12. "When we get there, We'll have to fly upwards...Oh..." He realised he was injured and felt suddenly useless. 'Damn' He cursed inwardly. "Do you have any wings hidden under that?" He asked, pointing at the Priest's attire. He sighed and leant against the wall as the numbers began to increase.

Father night road smiled at the woman softly "thank you, thank you very much indeed, god bless you child" he called over to her as he was lead away by the injured boy. He smiled softly at the woman through the doors before as they shut, knowing she wasn't looking but a smiles never wasted. He turned his soft smile to the boy at his side "mm? Oh well when you're in my line of work you learn to think quickly, thats how you stay alive" he smiled "that and being in gods good graces too, the amount of times the lord has been responsible for saving me is uncountable" he grinned, rolling his eyes to the sky before closing them briefly. He blinked them open and sighed "well, you'd be suprised...but no, wings I don't have, well, I can but its far to painful and dangerous to use them, we'll just have to find some other way up now wont we" he said in a soft teacher-ish voice that made him such a likable person to so many people, and utterly detestable to a few.

Spike felt such remote compassion towards the man as he smiled, he almost gasped. The doors opened on the twelfth floor and he stepped in, looking around with a smile. "Abandoned. I didn't think anybody would have the guts to work up here, even if they kept it open." He pointed to the corner, where there was a clean white ceiline made up of boards. "That's where the stairs used to be, the panels can be moved. I don't know what they did to the next ceiling." He walked over to the corner confidently, and began to push a table. He winced and fell to his knees, his face snarled together with pain. "My arm..." He said, pulling the sleeve back to see some of the wounds have opened. He shruged off the jacket and lay it on the nearest chair. "Thanks..I think I might need some help." he admitted grudgingly.

Abel followed the boy out and smiled a little "hmhm, I Don't think i feel so great being up here" he smiled weakly feeling a slight shiver at the white walls and empty feeling he had. He watched the boy and rushed over when he started to move "don't!..." it was to late "oh you stubborn child, I told you you'd be in pain, Oh now look at the state of that arm!" he sighed, touching the wounds gently "you....stop trying to be such a "man" " he said shaking his head placing his hand on the table. It only took one hand and a swift easy movement to move the table away. He paused to pick up his jacket and waited " Ready to lead on?" he asked, slipping the jacket back over his shoulders.

Spike began to climb through the hole in the ceilin, standing on the table. He leapt upwards and wriggled through with not much difficulty. When he was finally through, he panted and sat with his legs dangling over. "It's pretty easy after this. This is level 13. I think we are on... Level...Twenty? So that means only another seven floors to go." He tried to ingore the ' being a man' comment and continued with his flow of light conversation, redirecting Abel's thoughts from the surroundings. There were blood stained poles hanging out from the window ledges, everything had been removed, and broken glass covered the floor. In his mind, he replayed that night where they were attacked by the police.
The bear form of the the Guide swung at the guns of the Police as they shook in their boots. Shocked, bullets backfired into their heads, and all soon lay dead on the floor. Roy appeared beside him, shivering and kicking some of the twitching bodies. "What do we do with them?" Roy asked, and Vi turned to the Guide, who shrugged and bellowed. "Leave them" Vi frowned and took a few strides, picking up the nearest body with on hand. "We make our presence known." An hour later, screams were heard from the streets below, sirens sounded, the echos bouncing off the buildings. The floor was covered with rubble on the 13th floor, every window broken and from each one, a sharpened table leg had been stuck into the wall and made into a hanger. A dead body hung from every one. Twenty bodies hung from twenty windows, the drops of blood staining the pavement below. From then on, the Thirteenth floor had been abandoned, and officially cursed forever...
Spike stood looking out of one of the windows, watching the cars pass below him. "Make our presence known...eh?" He muttered, leaning on the broken window pane. Musing silently over the past events he waited for the limber man to climb up through the hole, and also pondered over how they would reach the next floor, and the ones above.

Abel watched the boy climb up with a bemused look on his face. Fantastic, he had to climb around like that? It’s not the work of a priest. “Oh god why do you keep challenging me like this?” he mumbled to the sky, climbing onto the table. “Why can’t I just stick to running fund raisers and giving the Sunday sermons? Oh my” he mumbled, pushing his lanky fame through the hole, his shoulder almost though before his feet left the table. With a small mumble and grunt he swiftly pulled himself through the hole. He paused, looking round, the blood on the walls glowed to him, a deep dark red smoke billowing from the blood, showing it was old and dry, but full of life that was lost prematurely. Something terrible had happened here and lives tragically ended. “what happened here?” he said sadly, slipping to his feet. “Surely you can’t live here? It’s not safe” he said, closing his eyes sadly, and drawing a cross over his chest and kissing his finger tips in a silent prayer for the dead.

"It doesn't matter, it's just this floor there was some....accidents. Freak accidents." He put emphasis on the word 'freak' and glowered at the floor. He went and stood underneath the next hole, which was a series of holes leading up to the floor beneath the last. "Come over here." He said, holding his arm and rubbing the wounds. When Abel was sufficiently close, Spike closed his eyes. Slowly, his skin began to sparkle and shimmer, small droplets of silver seeped out of his pores, drippping onto the floor. Soon there was a thin film over the floor and his skin was clean again. It had cleaned the blood out of the small wounds and he looked alot cleaner. He looked at his arms and stomach and smiled. "That worked better than I hoped." He said and looked at the silver. It began to group together into a disk large enough for the two men to stand on. It began to float as Spike held one hand over it. "Magnetism" he said simply, and stepped on. "Going up?" He said, raising his eyebrows.

“accidents” Abel mumbled, looking at the floor sadly. It must have been /some/ accident to cause this much death. Swallowing lightly he looked up and went over with a slight hesitation. He felt the gifted starting to change he was using his gift. “what are you doing?” he said, prepared to dodge, but staying still when he saw the metal seeping from his skin not shooting out as it had before. He looked at their feet and smiled nervously, stepping on “are you sure about this” he said in a whiney voice, hading the thought of relying on the powers of an injured gifted who had just failed to move a table. Sill he stayed still and let the metal lift them, swallowing again he screwed his eyes shut and resisted the urge to cling onto the other for dear life.

"Trust me." Spike said, a malicious grin playing upon his lips. As they began to rise upwards, the wind dried Spike's skin and touseled Abel's hair. The levs shot past them quickly, barely enough time to look at each one. A metal bar shot from lying on the floor of one of the level and had a life of it's own, shooting upwards and breaking the final floor seconds before Spike and Abel went through the hole.
ooc: Continued in a minute on Visitors evening.

Back at the church it lies empty as the clergy attending it are all away on different tasks. A strange silence hangs over the alter.

As the wind whistled through the trees and the rain banged heavily upon the ground and upon the stained glass windows a dark shadow moved. It gracefully floated down past the rows of old fashioned, wooden benches. The shadow moved further down to the statue of the praying Virgin Mary. Crouching down at the Virgins feet, placing his palms against the floor he began to mumble a pray to her. The light shinning through the rain onto the boys back making the two huge wings upon his back sparkle brightly within the light.
Taking a heavy breath tears began to roll gently down the boys soft face, falling down between his outstretched arms onto the clean, fresh red carpet. His shoulders begin to shake gently as he tried to hold back his tears but failing badly. His bright wings droop down, the wings spreading out against the floor, his head held down in shame.

”my what weather we’re having” the voice of the priest echoed over the empty church carrying his voice to every corner of the stone room. “I cant remember them ever saying it was going to get this stormy, I suppose I’ll have to cancel the book fair tomorrow” he said, apparently he was talking to himself. Abel smiled and nodded his head from side to side with his eyes closed “oh well” he sighed shrugging and opening his eyes “huh?” he blinked at the alter. Apparently he wasn’t talking to himself after all. He paused and walked up the isle, approaching the boy quietly. “Whatever you’ve done I’m sure she’ll forgive you, she’s a very forgiving person, just as the lord is” he smiled at the boy and leant down a little “my” he said looking at the wings “people like you keep turning up here all the time, I wonder why…perhaps it’s a touch of destiny, don’t you think?” he said, tilting his head at the boy with a soft smile.
