Sabaku jolted at the sound of the commotion coming from Toby's room. Her heart felt like it was being pinched, and stabbed and twisted too. She gulped and stepped away from Sebastian and Muraki, not speaking a word. She swiftly went to Toby's room, her body cautious and her hands shaking, as if she was expecting an ambush. But by the sound of it, she could well be attacked. "T-Toby," she whispered loudly, unable to find her voice. Feeling like a child, she slowly turned the doorknob and peered in like a concerned parent. Then, still cautious and her steps small, she walked closer to him and held up her hands like she was surrendering to him. "Are you alright?" she said politely, even though she knew why he was angry, and she felt quite hopeful, in a way.

Christopher smiled, greeting each person with a polite nod, about all he could manage contact wise in his condition. He looked up at the blond and smiled “ah, pleased to meet you… Father” he added as an after thought. Hugh just nodded. Ester smiled and skipped over to the new comer “you must be freezing” she said softly. Christopher smiled with amusement, “you could say that, It’s my gift” he explained to the two agents. “ice manipulation and a core body temperature of around minus 60” he informed them. Ester looked surprised “oh I see, that explains a lot.” She smiled, nodding and bowing a little before returning to her preparations Christopher smiled at his friend “Yes, winter does tend to have that effect on me but it seem I’m getting colder with age,” he smiled “oh yes everything’s been fine since everything was sorted” he assured the scientist, smiling at the barrage of questions. Someone spoke to him and he was about to reply when Muraki brushed past to collect the broken bot. He was mindful to move from the door, feeling the proximity of the people a little to close for their comfort. He made his way into the living room and admired the tree. “looks like your tastes haven’t changed at all” he remarked playfully, nodding at the tree. “no improvement with the eye?” he asked, referring of course to the gift. “still easily confused or getting better?” he asked, eager to check up on all the gifted progress, simply in the name of science, perhaps that’s why he felt so elated surrounded by so many other gifted individuals.
Meanwhile ester watched the boy storm off and frowned lightly, she contemplated goign to him, but chose against it when the young girl did, instead she smiled with a maternal "aww" at watching the pair.
Christopher showed a completely different kind of concern. “new power? The mind reading? When did it start?” he asked as innocently as he could. Hugh was still, quietly watching and listening, already uneasy with the two new presences, especially the cold one. He seemed too interested for Hughs liking.

He looked up at Sabaku as she walked in, his eyes red and pufy from trying not to break down. He didn't know of the expectation that men didn't cry, but he still felt reluctant to share his emotions so easily. "What do you want?" He asked, waiting for her to speak or for her to think. He wanted her to scream out in her head her feelings for him, whether they were mutual, hatred or returning his affections, he didn't care. He fell for people easily, it was simply enough to get over someone if you had a distraction.
In the Living room, Muraki was distracted from his surprise of Sebastians reappearance bu Christopher's inquiries. "Minus 60? Humm, that's another few degrees from a few years ago, my friend." He said, adressing Christopher casually. "I can now see lifespans and names on people's hearts. They are clearer now, I can almost see a fuzzy outline of something else, but I'm yet to perfect that. Although I have found that the fuzzy thing is only in gifteds. It's not writing, but a blurred image, it changes from person to person." He explained. When He asked about Toby, he took on a more excited expression. "I tell you, it's amazing. He was cooped up by testers, in cages and when he began to mix with people, aquiring the ability to judge emotions and realise that people are different, he suddenly began to read minds. I suppose it's only strong thoughts he can hear now, and has no way of focusing in or blocking out. I think he's having to deal with hearing everyone for now. Poor thing, I wonder what he heard." He wanted to go and see what was wrong, but Sabaku had beat him to the occasion.

Christopher’s eyes lit up “see names and life spans?, that’s….god Muraki that’s epic!” he smiled, grabbing a note pad from his pocket and jotting the information down. “ah I’ll be fine don’t worry about me” he said, a little delayed but it took a while for the show of concern to sink into the ice-block. He smiled “well that’s one hell of a gift” he smiled “I’m sure with time and a little training he’ll be able to control it better” he smiled, nibbling on his pencil. Ester smiled, “Christopher, why are you taking notes, if you don’t mind me asking?” The chilly academic smiled “oh I’m a geneticist, I’m doing research…” Ester’s eyes light up “oh, how wonderful. You should speak to a Father Able, he’s looking for someone like you” Christopher frowned “Father Abel?” he asked Muraki.

Sabaku sighed, slightly put off by the fact that her biggest habit was to concentrate on her posture more than anything, other than fighting. She decided to relax, but she couldn't. Her shoulders were hunched slightly and her hands opened and closed uncomfortably. "You can read minds, right?" She asked stupidly, even though she was well aware that he could. She shook her head. "Yeah, I know..." she stammered. She sighed again. She looked at him with pity in her eyes. "I..." she hesitated. She had no idea what to tell him. She looked at Toby as someone she wanted to be loved by, but also as someone she wanted to protect. 'He's so cute, even when he's angry.' She thought. Then she gasped silently and stared at him, knowing he must've heard that. "Is it okay... if we just..." she stepped forward and twiddled with her hair "...sit her and talk?" 'I want to know everything about this boy, even if he's practically inexistant.' She added to herself.

Toby's heart flittered, as did his visibility. He dissapeared momentarily, leaving his clothes floating in the air, then he managed to regain control of himself and return to being seen, blushing ridiculously red. "What do you want to know?" He asked, patting the space in front of him.
Muraki rolled his eyes. "Abel is a sugar-addict I have to deal with living with. He hasn't said anything about searching for a geneticist to me. What does he need one for?" He asked Esther, sroking his chin curiously, trying to recall whether Abel had said anything about needing someone like his cold friend Christopher. However, nothing came, Abel had never mentioned this, what was that man planning?

Sabaku smile was small, but every inch of it displayed warmth and relief. "We haven't talked, at all, really, have we?" She told him, stepping up to him close enough so that she was looking downwards. "Whatever we talk about, we'll be learning something new about each other." She touched his shoulder lightly. "Ah... like, I've been marked as an enemy of the state in many places that I've been to," she whispered to him, then she smiled slightly. "I also like to add extra salt to food, because I like anything to do with sand!" Her eyes shone with humour and she walked over to where the shattered glass lay. Without any trouble, she turned it all into sand and the small grained jumped into her hand and vanished. "There, clean."

Ester looked a little confused “oh, he didn’t say anything to you? I thought he would have…” she sad fading into silence, Mixing bread crumbs and eggs together for the stuffing “I think he’s looking for someone who could so some research on him, help him find the sourced and learn to control it better….” Came the low flat voice of Hugh, making Christopher jump, having forgotten the man was there. Ester frowned at him and sighed “are you sure he never said anything?, Oh dear I think I’ve put my foot in it” She sighed. Christopher’s below furrowed thoughtfully. “Well I’m sure I could run some tests that may help him... What’s his condition?” he asked, at this the two agent’s fell silent, knowing the delicate nature of Abel’s condition and not wanting to say too much.

Toby smiled, his eyes slowly lowering in their puffyness and he reached out for her hand, tapping her palm, unsure of how to show affection. He was new to human contact, he didn't know what was right or wrong, hence he either stood too close, invading space or too far away, seemingly cold. "I don't know how to act around people." He admitted, feeling silly even talking about it. "The people who tested me always hurt me whenever they came near me, so I'm scared of being to close to people, scared of hurting them. I don't know how to be....nice. I've only known the bad guys, so I can't help coming across as one. " He was still toying with her hand, brushing his fingertips across the lines on her palm, pushing slightly on each of the joints. He smiled to himself, at the feeling of someone elses warm skin without a needle, knife or machine anywhere nearby, waiting to inflict pain. "I like German cake." He said when the thought came to his head, a fleeting memory of Razille's shop, filled with sickly treats.
Muraki looked shiftily from side to side, uncomfortable with the silence and reluctance to speak od Abel's 'condition'. Muraki cleared his throught and spoke quietly. "It's a tender subject, I'm sure that he would want to be here if we told you." He explained, trying not to seem like they were keeping him out of anything major. "Please, everyone, take a seat. We have champagne if anyone would like to celebrate me buying the Inn of Saviours?" He smiled at the name, it sounded natural to him, already familiar. He began pouring glasses, sipping at his own, topping it off every now and then.

Sabaku's eyes shadowed with concern, and her affection for Toby grew ever stronger. She let him stroke her hand, and she smiled kindly. She took her other hand and gently took the side of his face in her hand, stroking his cheek with her thumb. "I'm not a bad guy, I have come here to help the humans," then she lowered her eyes shyly "and I want to help you." At the mention of German cake, Sabaku giggled. "See, we've learnt something about each other," she smiled warmly again "and I feel closer, don't you?"

Sebastian stood with one arm across his chest and the other supporting his jaw. He frowned slightly, unable to remember (which wasn't like him at all). His eyes lit up when he heard the name 'Daijo'. "Oh, Dr. Daijo. I do remember you - well, it's not as if I would forget. I never knew your first name, that's all," he said, his voice sounding more natural now. He still spoke quite rapidly and with an air of arrogance that came from being too smart. "Are you having a Christmas party?"

"Urm, actually no. Everyone's staying here for a while. We're moving to my new inn though. The Inn of saviours, I've just finalised the paperwork, it's officially mine. Infact, it's getting a little crowded here, does anyone want to go and look at it? I already have the keys." He looked about at everyone, offering drinks, sipping at his own and searching for his keys. "Someone go get Toby, I want to go to the Inn now." He said, his voice wobbling slightly.

"Doctor, are you dr - uh, I mean well? I haven't seen you in a while," Sebastian said in a poor effort to stop himself before he mentioned the word 'drunk'. It wasn't respectful, not that he had any real reason to be respectful since he wasn't Daijo's student any more. "Saviours, aye..." His voice drifted off. He knew of the Saviours and he didn't agree with what they did. Mind you, he didn't agree with Light's Nemesis either. Not unless they were buying his computer services, then he would agree with anything the customer said... to a point. He'd recently been in a spot of trouble at his job when he told one of the junior accountants that she was a 'stupid bitch', all because she would never empty her recycle bin after deleting her naughty emails. Somehow she'd twisted the whole story back on him and got him a verbal warning from the boss. "Oh no, what a boss... I'd better get back to work, Dr. Daijo. Good to see you. I might drop in again after Christmas if you don't mind?"

Christopher shrugged at Muraki “You got another place? Oh well I simply have to see this, where do you get your money from anyway” he asked, fetching his coat and pulling it over his frigid body. Ester smiled at Hugh and pushed him towards the pairs coats, then heading to Tobys door and knocking on it loudly "TOBY, come on, we're going to the new house!" she called in. Hughu sighed angrily and grabbed Esters coat, helping her put it on in a very gentlemanly fashion before getting his own heavily armoured coat. Ester smiled “yes, lets go, now, I want to see this place”

Toby jumped when he heard a knock at the door. He nodded before someone had shouted the reason, hearing it seconds before they spoke. He got up, offering a hand to Sabaku. "Come on, apparently it's a wonderful place." He said, urging her to hurry so they wouldn't be left behind. With his free hand, he grabbed a large jacket and folded his wings as tight as he could around him, tutting as his tip feathers stuck out of the bottom. "I need a longer jacket" He stated and opened the door, reading himself to bolt out and adventure around the new Inn.
Muraki sighed and shook his head. "I don't drink." He said stupidly and sipped at the champagne again. When some inquired about his money, he just shrugged. "You fail to remember, I run a gifted school, a shop, am invested in by large chemists and pharmacutical companies and doctors to research things. Oh and I got a big grant from healing the city, and I make talks at some Universities sometimes." He stated his many roles, all of which seemed high and important, yet he still seemed to have all of this free time. He grinned, his eyes closing at his gleeful mood. "Hurry up Toby, I want to get there straight after the removal van puts in all the furniture." He said, checking his watch and blinking four times at it before giving up.
