The Beacon was full of the bear essentials and much resembled an ordinary roof. There was a fridge-freezer packed with ready meals and essentials. To the side was two doors, one lead to the flat roof with a rickety metal staircase, the other was the bathroom. There was a poker table with four stools around, and a rocking chair in the corner. It had gathered dust ever since The Guide left. There were two large windows, arches in the side of the slanted walls that stayed open most of the time for easy air access. The floor was dusty and wooden, the sound of boots always seemed to echo to the floor below, reminding them that above lay the horrors of the City Freaks.
Vi paced up and down, his large books clanging off the floor and making dust rise and float around his legs. His long jacket brushed the floor and made a faint scraping sound that sounded like a train breaking to Vi. He stopped and widened his hearing. His world seemed to expand with car horns echoing off buildings giving him a larger shape of his surroundings. He picked out a few birds and two larger beings that were flying along in the sky. One was lean and feminine, the other bulky with long nails. He 'watched' them momentarily, only being able to hear when it was particularly noisy below them. Slowly, his hearing began to get too crowded and a head-ache threatened. He close in on the noises around him and found a seat with the echos. Sitting down he crossed his legs and traced a pattern on the table next to him. "You are bloody late" He said, hearing someone enter.

Briskly, Eolyn walked in closely followed by Spike, her head down in shame for being late. She'd overslept after all. "Excuse us, Vi," she begged, finding a dark wall to lean on. She folded her arms and let out a long breath, watching the blind man as he gazed into the space where she and Troy had just come from. His hair had grown and his muscles had developed. He seemed slightly sexy, in fact. She blushed at the thought at counted herself lucky. Spike was obscene, but he was attractive too. She could be with these two men and be familiar with them, whilst ridding the city of annoying humans.

Spike bundled in lazily, sticking his fingers up at Vi silently. Mouthing rude words at him and then saying "Sorry, 'Sir'" Sarcastically after. He pulled up a stool and flipped his cards out of his pocket, shuffling them and throwing them about artistically.
Vi laughed deeply and flicked his hair out of his eyes. He blew stray peices out of his eyes and growled at it. His small fangs poked over his bottom lip and he licked them hungrily. "Who want's some flame grilled steak?" He asked, getting up and shaking his legs out. Spike grunted as Vi rummaged through the cupboards. He picked three steaks out of the fridge and grabbed a large pan. He took them both back to his seat and placed the steaks in the pan. He put the pan on the shelf behind him and slowly his wings began to burn, crackling softly in the silence.
"You going to tell us why you've gathered us like this?" Spike asked, playing with a penknife prying cards in half for special magic tricks. He stuck it in the table and sniffed loudly. "I hate winter, all it brings is miserable colds." He muttered.
Vi ignored him and raised his eyes to whereabouts where he thought Eolyn stood, she was quiet for a while so he was mostly guessing. "Can you get me a drink please?" He said, minding his manners. Despite him pretty much being the boss, she was still one of the only ladies in his life, and he wanted to make a good impression. She had a good nature (Most of the time) and was active in their activities, a valuable member. After loosing Roy when he stupidly attacked a powerful gifted, they were down on spirits and numbers and Eolyn was a welcomed change. He smiled at the thought and tried not to look to scary or pervy and more innocent for once.
Troy got up and walked to the corner where there was a workout bench, weights and a punchbag. He saw Vi engaged in his thoughts, wings ablaze for something as simple as cooking steaks. Jelousy roared up inside him and he threw a punch at the bag, disguising it as simply working out. He continued to pummel it, watching it swing and throwing glances to Eolyn to see if she was returning Vi's affections. "Bastard." He muttered, lunging forwards. His muscles rippled and the tattoos shimmered attractively. Vi frowned at Spike, hearing his comment and let out a low hiss to control his anger. "I heard that" He said simply. "Faggot." Spike smiled and jumped around, beating up the swinging bag merrily.

She daydreamed for a long while, Eolyn. Thinking over her old school back in Cassis, thinking about how she had developed her powers and all of the people she'd met. One, she'd had special attachments too, she'd even made love to him, but suddenly she couldn't remember what he looked like entirely. She grunted, then heard Vi's voice and looked up slowly with cautious eyes. He asked for a drink and she nodded, completely forgetting that he couldn't see. When she glided to the rusty fridge, taking a drink, she finally remembered, cursed silently and pushed it into Vi's hand after opening it. "Here," she muttered, nearly jumping out of her skin when Spike threw a monstrous punch at the bag by the wall. She watched him, smiled with admiration and skipped to the window, leaning on the sill and out of it. She took one of her hands, created a thin, sharp shaft of ice and flung it out of the window and watched as it stabbed the foot of a human walking-by. She smirked and hid away, leaning against the wall, gazing up at the ceiling and giggling proudly. "So," she started "who else do we need to wait for?"

Vi waited for a while confused as to whether Eolyn was getting him a drink or not. When she ran the tap it was obvious she was and he relaxed a little, shutting off hie hearing a little momentarily to relax. A cool object was slid into his hand and he jumped, grabbing the glass and gasping. "Jesus, that's cold." He said, remembering that Eolyn had ice powers so duh it will be cold. He sniggered at his momentary memory loss and hearing the faint sound of a human screaming. "Sweetcheeks, you got problems." Spike said, walking over and watching the human being crowded by helpers and nurses calling for backup. "But nice shot anyways." He said, chuckling at their panic. His wings rippled slightly when he felt a chill and used this as an excuse to move closer to Eolyn.
Vi's hearing picked up again and he hissed slightly, clicking his teeth so he could find his surroundings better. "This is it, the three of us are all we have left of the group ever since Jerome fled and Roy died." He stood up and his wings went out. He wavd his hand over the steaks and picked up the pan. He served them out and added some salad, leaving it out on his. He grabbed a handful of knives and walked over to Spike and Eolyn. He held their plates out to them and when they took them he began to slice his own, eating each peice hungrily. "God, I've been hungry for ages, waiting for you guys." He said. "We had to fly there 'n' back, Boyo." Spike said, slicing his with a long needle from the tip of his finger. Vi laughed and tried to swallow his meal. "I was joking when I said you had to go and get her, I could have just rang. You were the one who wanted to go." "A chance to see Sweetcheeks while she's asleep and dreaming? Ahh...Priceless." Spike said, holding his heart and swaying. "You're a pervert, you know." Vi said, kicking Spike heavily, knowing that he probably can't feel a thing. "You can talk, Mr Blood Fetish." Spike retoriated. Vi blushed and went silent, eating his meal. When he was finished, long before the other two he put the plate down, licking the knife up and down trying to eat the remains. "To answer...." Lick. "What you said..." Lick. "Earlier." Lick, swallow. He threw the knife and it stuck in the wall behind them, swinging slightly. "We're the only ones left, so our current mission almost is to get some new members. Everyone has their dark side, and in this city there are alot of gifteds. It offers the cover of suburban landscapes and crowds of people, there are bound to be many odd people about. I have a few names and pictures of known gifteds. Don't ask how or where I got them, just shut up." He dug into his pocket and got out some peices of paper. "An associate of mine managed to get them, some of the pictures are dated but we need the people asap."
Spike cut in, tapping a picture on the pile he had been given. "This guy's a priest, why would a white collar guy want to team up with us?" He asked, dumbfounded. "Because we are the powerful side, despite being down on numbers, our powers combined create a unstoppable force." Vi explained. "Everyone lusts after power and respect, so why wouldn't a priest turn bad for it?" He smiled, his fangs gleaming slightly. "Now get the hell out and go find some gifteds. Aiight?" He said.
Spike nodded, once again forgetting Vi's disability. Vi donned some blacked out glasses and turned towards Eolyn, smiling sweetly. "Any questions?" He asked.

Eolyn rolled her eyes at Spike, but leant against the wall and didn't stir. She watched him watch the humans outside and noticed he was slowly edging closer. However, she did not blush, she simply looked at him with wide-eyes, hoping not show favouritism in front of him. She glanced quickly at Vi, who was hissing strangely and she wanted to giggle but she decided to hold a straight face, her knees shaking. She shivered. "Brrr, even I get a little too cold," she lied. She was simply nervous to be in a room with two, murderous but attractive men. But she soaked it in like a sponge, tasting the attention. At the sound of the word 'pervert', Eolyn elbowed Spike in the stomach jokingly and dived out of his reach and skipping to the other side of the room, her tongue stuck out. "I can't believe we're the small team, I would expect us to be quite a big group," she said "I guess not that many people have our powers let alone desires!" She sighed and slid down the wall until she was sitting. She frowned at the thought that they were unsure of who they were going to be enemies of. She shuddered but masked her shiver with yawn. "Are we going to recruit more people?"

Spike shrugged and leapt after Eolyn, pretending to chase her. He stopped after a moment, feeling his dinner shift unnervingly. "Vi, if you've gave me food poisoning I'll kill you." He said, clutching his stomach. He grabbed his large cloak and walked to the window, donning it and pushing his wings through the holes. When folded, his wings fitted inside the cloak and were barely noticeable. He unfolded them gently and waved to Eolyn, giving her a cheeky wink to match. "I'm off, work to do and all that." He said, jumping out with a extravagant dive and swooping down to glide above the rooftops.
Vi swivelled round and face Eolyn, walking slowly up to her, his low deep voice echoing off the walls and surrounding her with it's vibrations. "Well, frankly I like the closeness of the small group, but it might cause...awkwardness. We have to invite a few others eventually." He said, stopping barely far away from her. He leant on the wall, putting one hand over her shoulder and enclosing himself around her. "I'd prefer it if this group was even smaller myself." He said, leaning forwards to nuzzle into Eolyn's icy coloured hair.

Waving to Spike with a kind smile as he departed, Eolyn stood up and, to her shock, Vi was walking swiftly towards her. She guessed that Vi could tell her heart was beating even more rapidly than when she was with the two together. "It's alright having a small group, but, we might lose..." she dared to say in front of the man who was probably the leader. The bat-man was becoming intimate suddenly and Eolyn couldn't stop herself from blushing. The red blazed her pale cheeks but Vi couldn't see them, thankfully. She wanted to swallow but he could most likely hear that. She felt nervous, but not scared or awkward. Vi was a nice guy. "Vi, sir..." she muttered as he nuzzled his head into her hair. She fell speechless, but she took the chance and grabbed Vi's cold hand. Her ice-powers couldn't warm them, but it was still a nice feeling. "You didn't poison Spike did you?" she joked, trying to make conversation.

"I'm not your Sir." He said, speaking in almost a whisper into her locks. He giggled a pulled away slightly, his hand unmoving. He felt her icey fingers on his and immediately his hand warmed. His hands were larger than hers and he could easily hold her whole palm in his hand. "I wouldn't poison him, I have more creative ways of killing hedgehogs after all." He traced his finger up her arm and across her shoulder, reaching her neck and sliding round to hold the side of her neck, cradling her jaw in his hand. He leant in, his eyes closing behind the glasses he wore. He paused with his lips pursed, not wanting to force anything, and wanting to feel the satisfaction of her lust aswell as his own.

Still blushing uncontrollably, Eolyn watched, through his dark sunglasses, the white, blank eyes of Vi. They weren't noticeable, however they were still beautiful in their own way. He was leaning in towards him, touching her and holding her neck. She felt revealed to this man, but she wasn't feeling awkward, even though she should be. What if Spike was to return and spot them kissing - would he leave? And would he hurt Vi or her? But she couldn't be so judgemental, she hardly knew the pair of them. Yet she was millimetres from Vi. In the end, she bowed her head so he kissed her head instead. "Forgive me, it's still early..." she murmured, her throat tightening.

Vi let his hand fall limp beside him and pushed off the wall with the other. He felt crushed, and incredibly exausted. He sighed and took off his glasses, rubbing his eyes. "I understand." He said, walking towards the window. "I'm sorry." He said, jumping elegantly out the window. His wings unfurled and burned immediately, slowing his fell and propelling him fowards easily. He rode on the wind, sniffing and gulping heavily at the lump in his throat.

Eolyn's heart began to twist painfully. She didn't want to hurt him, but she felt that she'd done the right thing this time. She watched as the bat-man leapt out of the window, as if they'd broken up and he was falling away from her and she couldn't grab hold of him; she couldn't pull him back now. Then realisation hit her. "Hey! Don't leave me all alone!" she called angrily after him, sprinting to the window and darting out like a spear, pelting herself into the night-air. She eyed the little humans, whom were walking about, vunerable, like ants under the sun. Eolyn refrained herself from spitting down at them. She didn't tolerate humans... only her parents... She tried to spot one of the two winged warriors but they were out of eyeshot. ((To be continued on different thread))
