The house is empty and has been empty for many years. It's known as the Cursed Trap because dead bodies appear here. It's dusty but there are marks where bare-footed people walked here and picked up the dust on the floor with their feet. Therefore, creating footprints. There's only one thing there. An old wooden chest that has no signs of anyone trying to open it at all. Perhaps someone will open it discover the contents, if they're not scared, at least.
As if it was raining outside, Xei ducked inside his cloak and slipped through a wall from an abandoned alleyway. He stumbled as he fell through the wall and coughed as he now has a coat of dust all over his cloak. He grumbled silently and brushed it off, rubbing his eyepatch and refitting his purple hat. He cautiously stepped forward, looking around him. An empty room except for a strange chest. He went and kicked it and a cloud of dust erupted from it and the chest vibrated but lay shut. He shoved his hand straight through the wood and felt around (shivered when a tiny spider nudged his finger) and he found something smooth, round and warm. Completely curious, he pulled out his hand, picked up the chest, with difficult, jumped up through the ceiling and threw the chest as possible and it crashed to the ground, wood splintered torpedoing in every direction. He grabbed the small glowing orb and shoved it into his pocket and suddenly froze. He could hear voices above him. He gulped and slipped out through a nearby wall to an unfamiliar street. Otome Street. "Wh-who's there..." he called.

Vi was stood almost exactly opposite the kid, but the darkness enveloped him until he was invisible. Slowly, he raised his arm, the leather on his jacket creaking. 'Click!' His fingers snapped and his wings set alight, lighting up the street and creating a glow behind him. Shadows cast over his face, his black eyes were almost hollowed out in the night. He put a finger to his lips. "I know your secret, Xei." He rumbled, his voice deep and low, his eyes staring into the mid-distance, not focused on anything, unseeing and marble.

Completely glued to blood-stained ground below his black boots, Xei gazed at the phenomenal man with flaming wings, his eye blazed with wonder and admiration, other than fear and despair. Although he was aware that this wasn't going to be a moment he passed in the street. He was gifted! The man was ever more intriguing. He was handsome and had long, black hair that rested on his shoulders and his shirt only forced Xei to stare at his incredible body. And, also, he wore dark sunglasses. And being half-blind, he knew immediately. He closed his eyes and exhaled. "You know my name," he said bluntly "but I know you are blind, I guess we are similar." He leant up against the wall he had just walked through and folded his arms, not meeting the winged-man's blind gaze. "So, what's my secret?"

"hum... Let me think. You were rejected from your people. You are senstive to light, your second name is Morton. That eye under the patch is white, and blind like me. You can jump better than a frog, you carry a poisoned dagger but only use it at certain times. Your speed can match a cheetah easily, when jogging to you. You're arrogant yet giving to women, a loner, a freak....a gifted."He raised his face with a smirk playing across his face. "Take your pick of secrets Xei. I know almost everything about you, more than you know yourself." He stepped fowards, his arms unfolded casually and flames dancing across his fingertips. His fangs glimmered in the shimmer and he laughed deeply. "You can join us, punish those who doubted you, rejected you, abused you. Everyone lusts for power, and with us, you can forfill that desire until you are content...Or, of course. You can refuse my generous and open offer, and I shall kill you. You can float with the wind, and fly like you longed to. Of course, you'd be a pile of ashes so it wouldn't be that impressive. Now, yes or no, friend?" He stepped sideways, pacing the alleyway, his wings crackling like a wood fire, filling the alleyway with noise and light, terrifying yet comforting.

Xei was overwhelmed, but his blank, green eye didn't twitch or roll; he showed no emotion. "Arrogant?" he asked, pushing off against the wall "I wish I had someone to be arrogant to." But then he smiled at the man. "You must be one of those people who manipulate and or seduce people to join your side." He then bent forward so his head and was close as possible to Vi, though there was still a distance between them "and it seems you have to resort to simple, weak me." He didn't want to use a sharp tongue in order to get through this. He wanted so badly to be himself in every case, but he didn't trust enough. In fact, he'd rather lie to survive than let anyone find out how pathetic he was. The man hadn't mentioned that Xei was a caring protector, but that wasn't his specialty anyway.

"You're not that alone you know. I have a troup of people to back to up, weak or powerful. You are stronger than any normal human and even yourself, you know that." He stepped back, feeling odd speaking to someone so close when he couldn't touch or reach them to move them back. He heard the clink of metal in the distance and moans, but shook it off as the nightlife of Souzetsu. "It doesn't matter how I get people to join me does it? Frankly, if you refuse me again and insist you are so weak, it tempts me even more to burn you to a crisp. Yes...or No?" He was getting impatient, tapping the toe of his boot on the floor, the thud rippling off the walls and bouncing back, giving him a strong idea of everything around him.

Standing up, but immediately, falling into a slump instead of trying to be composed, Xei sighed. "Yes, okay, I'd already accepted when I saw that body of yours." Oops, he'd spoken his mind. Now things were going to get awkward. Well, only if he made them awkward. He breathed and turned invisible, knowing perfectly well that the man was blind, but he did it because he wanted to hide the shame from himself. He swallowed and walked a little along the street, his head to the skies. He watched the black clouds with his one eye; they were like dead souls floating to the endless horizon, trying to find their way in the world. Like himself. "What's your name, then?" he asked "and it's nice to meet you... I guess."

Vi smirked and laugh. His own sexuality had been over much debate in his old school, his only relationship with a boy. He felt emotion to people...not genders. As he was blind personality took over completely, and the way he felt about them was judged on that. "Why thankyou. At least I'm thinking you meant that as a compliment. I might be completely fat and horrible, I don't exactly know. " He stroked his chin and began to follow the boy's footsteps along the street. "My name is Viempar Aethalon, I'm single, twenty years old, I like rain and fire and sometimes walks along the beach. My best friends are Eolyn and Troy, also my accomplaces and I'm tickling but only on the lower part of my back." he said sarcastically, smiling. "Is that what you wanted?"

Suddenly and strangely thinking about Viempar's ticklish spot, Xei turned a shade of red and furrowed his brow, embarrassed with himself. "Alright..." he mumbled "you're not fat and horrible anyway," he stated reluctantly, speedening his pace and shoving his hands into his cloak pockets, fastening the collar before doing so. "So, what do you plan on doing now? Where are the headquarters? Who are Eolyn and Troy and when will I meet them?" He paused to breathe for a long moment. "I hope to be a valuable member, sir..." he muttered, stepping within friendly distance to Vi as he felt more confident. He'd never met someone so cool and attractive. "Is Eolyn a girl... then?" He asked, creating an image of her already.

"Ooo, cool. I might apply for a new Mr Muscle advert then." He sniggered to himself quietly and when catapulted questions at him he answered cooly and calmly, never breaking his icey facade. "Well We are currently recruiting members, getting our numbers up as we are definately on the lower side on numbers. The headquarters are at the top of a building, we named it The Beacon, it writes newspapers so they are pretty nosy. Luckily they know to keep their distance once we hung a few by their toes off the 13th floor." He reminisced over the memory momentarily, when they had finally found Eolyn, their first female member. "Troy is a texan bastard with a bad attitude, used to be a Human Hedgehog. Eolyn is...icey but warm. She controls ice because of a freak accident, lost her dad, hates the human race." He puzzled over the question whether Eolyn was a girl. "Yeah she is, but she fits so well in with me and Spike...aka Troy, I hardly notice she's any different. A Very muderous personality, just today she managed to icicle a human's foot. Great aim." He wondered what it would fell like to be stabbed with an icicle and then shivered at the thought. "Will you be able to get to the Beacon on the outside, Xei? It's trouble having to pull a gifted through the building, security is so tight. That's why we picked it, and 'cause there was a gaping hole in the roof." He smiled at the memory of the run down place it used to be, when Roy was alive and the Guide still had the guts to fight the humans. "If it's all go on getting to the Beacon, then I can get you there and I'll call a meeting for tommorow. We need to see what their status is anyway. I can't leave them alone for ten minutes without them being chased by murderous vampires or rabied dogs."

Although he found Vi's humorous comments amusing, he forced himself to stay cool. He'd never been compassionate or caring on the outside towards males, and he wasn't planning on starting now and give off a weakling's first impression. Xei looked with complete interest, unafraid to show that emotion completely, knowing Vi was blind. But if he was to speak with an oddly enthusiastic tone, then of course Vi would be able to decifer his emotions. So he stayed calm... and monotonous. "I can jump up stories from the inside, as long as the stories haven't been, like, destroyed," he said cooly. Spotting a stone with his one eye, he aimed a kick at it and only just managed to send it soaring into the sky. It was difficult to get a good kick with one eye, but he was slowly getting more used to being a freak. "A girl, eh?" was he resultant answer "is she pretty... then?" he tried to make conversation.
Managing to find a decent building to crouch on, Eolyn stepped on the corner of that roof and glanced down, her expression blank. However, her eyes burned with need to see a familiar face, especially Vi's. She tried craning her head to get a good look at the dark-violet cloaked guy with the bat-man. He was small, and he wore a dark beret and had a pearl-white bone staff. Eolyn immedaitely imagined the boy as quiet, seeing his collar was tight at his mouth, covering it. At least, it would muffle everything he said. She grinned and sprung off the corner and glided down so she landed briskly next to him, her hands on her hips. "Who's this you're entertaining, Vi?" Xei spun around and his eyes bulged as he looked upon a slender-figured girl with vibrant eyes and soft hair. He blushed; he hid his face inside his collar, leaving only his face revealed. "M-my name is Xei..." he muttered, hoping Vi would say something to this mysterious, elegant woman.

"Oh, ask the blind guy whether she's pretty, smart move. I don't know. She has a nice figure, I know that much." He cut himself off as Eolyn's heartbeat and footsteps were within range. "Ah Eolyn, How nice of you to join us. Meet the newest member. I see instead of recruiting you seem to be loosing track of our other members? Where's Troy? That's dude better not have got himself arrested." He said boldly, confidence radiating from him. "Your hearts racing, what happened?" He asked, noticing Eolyn's heart rate was through the roof. He actually began to worry where Spike was, like a mother who's child had foolishly wandered off.

Xei frowned with embarrassment and foolishness. "Yeah, I forgot..." he mumbled, turning to the girl. "Well, I'm Eolyn, as Vi has just said," Eolyn announced, walking briskly towards Vi, sweeping her hair over her shoulders. "He's back there somewhere, injured." She then laughed. "He can help himself," she said this with the slightest hint of bitterness. She was quite unsure why she suddenly felt angry towards him. And, for some reason, her body was only inches away from Vi's and her heart was pounding. Completely unaware of Vi's excellent hearing, Eolyn stretched and rested her hand on Vi's shoulder lazily, looking at the young boy. "So, how old are you?" Xei blinked awake. "J'ai dix-neuf ans..." he blurted out and Eolyn looked at him strangely. She smiled affectionately nonetheless and Xei coughed. "What the hell," he muttered "I'm nineteen, y-you...?" he mumbled, suddenly shaking with nerve. "Well, we're the same age!" She said cheerfully "so do you speak French?" "Ha ha," Xei said with humour "not really." "I can barely speak my own language, Welsh!" Eolyn added in, turning to Vi with questioning. "So, do we have to go and find hedgehog now?"

Vi smirked to himself as her heart began to pound wildly, yet she still had the guts to rest her hand on his shoulder. He could feel her breath against his cheek and tried to distract himself by clicking his tongue against the roof of his mouth. "huh? Whuh?" He said stupidly when Eolyn spoke to him. "Hedgehog?" He asked, completely bemused. "Oh Right!" He coughed and regained his compsure, standing up straighter. "If he's injured, I guess so. But if he left to go somewhere we don't know, or aren't actually there. What would happen to him, hey?" He raised his eyebrows and adjusted the glasses that hung off his shirt pocket. "We should probably get back to the Beacon, at least show Xei where it is, what's there." He also had the idea Spike would head back to the Beacon for some blood, which Vi hated giving, he did like blood after all. He needed it to heal himself, and stay healthy. Giving it to others made him grouchy, cranky and extremely broody. "Home it is?" He asked finally, making sure that everyone was on the same page as him.

Xei grinned to himself, thanking himself for running into this man. Now he was teammates with two beautiful people - and they were strong with the same intentions as his. Eolyn, too, grinned. She smiled sweetly at the new member of the 'family' and turned to Vi stroking his neck with the back of her finger. "If he does come back to the Beacon," she said "I don't mind giving blood, I know you." Xei looked from one to the other, confused. "Hmm?" "Never mind," Eolyn answered "you're going to love the Beacon..." Xei raised his eyebrow and smiled kindly. "Even if I don't, I'll be happy." "Good," Eolyn said cheerily, removing her arm from Vi's shoulder and holding her opposite hand out to the skinny boy. "Let's go, come on." Xei glanced at Eolyn's outstretched hand, bewildered. He never would have expected someone as lowly as himself to have the honour of holding a senior's hand. Especially if it was a girl's! He gulped and refused to move and Eolyn eyed him closely. "Afraid?" "No... I'm just not worthy..." he mumbled and Eolyn laughed sharply. She then seized him by the wrist and hovered into the air, Xei, who was rather light, in her grasp. The purple-clad boy squirmed and his cheeks turned rosy. "Come on VI!" Eolyn called.
